Air Ambulance Crash: SSB Carried Bodies for 2 KMS

SSB (Sashashtra Seema Bal) Second-in-Command noted that the complex terrain posed a challenge to its rescue efforts.

They had to carry the bodies for nearly two kilometres as there was no access to the road at the crash site, which was located deep inside the forest.

According to him, by the time the team reached the spot, no one survived. With only one stretcher, their operation became very difficult.

Since the plane crash occurred in the middle of the jungle, it was not easy for a person to walk alone there.

Speaking to the media, he said the area is covered with dense bushes. Moving in and carrying out a rescue operation at night was definitely not simple.

Officials in Chatra learned of the accident at 10:00 PM, and because of the difficult terrain, the rescue operation did not proceed smoothly.

Thunderstorm Caused the Flight Crash, Claims One Official

One official claimed a thunderstorm was the main reason behind the plane crash. Among the board, two were crew members, and the others included a patient, Sanjay Kumar, and his family, who took a loan of 8 lakh for an air ambulance.

But sadly, the patient and his family members all died in the air ambulance crash in Chatra, Jharkhand.

As per identification, the deceased patient, Sanjay and his family belonged to Chandwa town in Latehar district.

Among the victims were his wife Archana, Dhruv (a relative), hospital staff, and crew members. Sanjay was running a hotel in Chandwa town.

The Deceased Patient Has Suffered Burn Injury Before

Before death became his fate, deceased Sanjay had suffered burn injuries due to a short-circuit incident at his hotel last Monday.

To treat him, his family rented an air ambulance and asked relatives to help them with the money, as they were not financially strong.

Ajay, the brother of the deceased Sanjay, who works in the Haryana government, shared the information.

The air ambulance was supposed to admit Sanjay to Gangaram Hospital.
