Lucknow Coaching Centre Fire: Authorities said at least four people were arrested after a fire broke out in a three-storey building on Usha Mehta Marg in Lucknow's Aliganj area on Monday, leading to 15 deaths.

Police named the accused as Ram Krishna Upadhyay (43), Virendra Prasad Shukla (62), Tushok Krishna Jaiswal (31), and Suresh Kumar Sahu.

Yogi Adityanath on Lucknow Fire: UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited the site and announced ₹5 lakh for the families of those who died and ₹50,000 for each injured person.

He also set up a two-member Special Investigation Team to look into the Aliganj fire tragedy.

UP Urban Development and Energy Minister AK Sharma said early reports suggest the fire may have started in the building's AC duct.

He said smoke caused suffocation because there was no proper exit, and possible lapses in building standards would be investigated.

Lucknow Coaching Centre Fire: Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that families of those who died would receive Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF), and the injured would get Rs 50,000.

The Prime Minister said he was deeply saddened by the loss of lives in the Lucknow fire and offered his condolences to the families.

He wished the injured a quick recovery and said rescue operations were still going on, with authorities giving all possible help.

After the fire was under control, stretchers were brought in through a neighboring building. Rescue teams made a hole in the wall to move stretchers into the affected area.

Students Trapped in Fire: Officials believe four to five people may still be trapped, and 12 deaths have been reported so far.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his sorrow and offered condolences to the families.

He cut short his Aligarh trip, where he was to announce new projects, and returned to Lucknow to visit the fire site.

He told senior officials to quickly contact the affected families and provide all possible help and also asked authorities to make sure the injured get the best treatment available.

Lucknow Coaching Centre Fire: Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak told reporters that the rescue operation was almost complete. He said the main priority was making sure all children were safe, and that most had already been evacuated.

Pathak said Lucknow firefighters used new ways to enter the building during the rescue. Fire brigade teams got in by breaking through a second-floor wall of a nearby house.

To deal with heavy smoke, they set up exhaust fans and searched each room and washroom to make sure everything was checked.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh traveled to Lucknow soon after hearing about the fire at a coaching institute in Aliganj that took 15 lives.

Rajnath will start by visiting the site of the fire to understand what happened.

After that, he will go to King George's Medical University (KGMU) to meet the injured and see how they are doing. He is also expected to meet with KGMU officials for a review.
