According to officials, around fifteen tourists had somehow managed to save themselves by swimming through the rough waters. So far, eight people have lost their lives, which included two women. The remaining ten people cannot be found. Hence, there can be a rise in the number of deaths.
Based on the reports of some eyewitnesses, the main cause behind the boat mishap was the sudden occurrence of strong winds and climate change, which resulted in the boat losing balance and getting drowned.

The injured survivors were taken to Jabalpur Medical College for treatment.
