Mumbai Train Murder Case: Family Demands Death Penalty for Killer After Train Stabbing
Mumbai Train Murder Case: The family of 22-year-old Mayank Lohar, who was stabbed to death on a Mumbai local train after an argument about keeping the doors open during heavy rain, wants the accused to get the death penalty.
They believe only the harshest punishment would be fair. Mayank’s sister, mourning his loss, called for justice and said only the death penalty would be right.
She explained that losing her brother felt like losing everything, so she believes death is the only suitable punishment.
Mumbai Train Murder Case: Man Killed Over Train Door Argument, Suspect Arrested
Mayank was killed on a crowded Mumbai suburban train after an argument about keeping the doors open during heavy rain.
Witnesses saw the accused, Sachin Ramesh Suvarna, holding a bloodstained knife in the packed coach while Mayank lay motionless in a pool of blood.
The police arrested the 30-year-old suspect within 24 hours after a detailed search, including reviewing footage from over 400 CCTV cameras at several railway stations.

Local Train Passenger Murder: Door Dispute Ends in Fatal Stabbing on Mumbai Local
The Government Railway Police (GRP) said the incident happened around 10:50 pm on Tuesday in the first-class compartment of the Churchgate to Nallasopara fast local train, as it traveled between Andheri and Borivali stations.
Passengers argued about keeping the train doors open or closed because rainwater was coming in.
The argument got worse, and the accused allegedly pulled out a sharp weapon and stabbed Mayank in the chest and abdomen.
Mayank collapsed inside the coach. The accused jumped off the moving train near Borivali station before it stopped and ran away.
Railway officials, along with GRP and Railway Protection Force (RPF) staff, hurried to the compartments as soon as the train reached Borivali.

Mumbai Train Murder Case: Mayank was taken to the station's emergency medical room and then to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Videos documenting the destruction began circulating widely by Wednesday morning.
The incident caused widespread outrage and renewed concerns about passenger safety on Mumbai's suburban rail network. Police registered a murder case.
To find the accused, the railway police formed seven special investigation teams with officers from railway police stations and the Western Railway crime branch.
Police Arrest Suspect After Scanning 400 CCTV Cameras
CCTV Investigation: Investigators checked footage from more than 400 CCTV cameras at Borivali, Andheri, Mira Road, and Nallasopara stations, as well as cameras at nearby entry and exit points.
With the help of technical analysis, CCTV footage, and intelligence, police identified the suspect as Sachin Ramesh Suvarna, a Cargo company employee from Mira Road East.
He was arrested in the Panvel area of Navi Mumbai on Wednesday.
Company Logo Clue: When investigators found clear video of the suspect wearing a T-shirt with his employer's logo, police visited the cargo company.
There, they confirmed who he was and collected details about his address, family, and phone number.
Roshan Suvarna Latest Update: After Train Fight, Suspect Tried to Escape Mumbai Before Arrest
Police said Suvarna went home after the incident and told his father he had been in a fight on a local train.
Afraid of being arrested, he left home around midnight and planned to leave Mumbai before investigators could find him.
Police said they have not yet found the murder weapon, and the accused is still being questioned.
This is the second fatal stabbing on Mumbai's Western Railway suburban network this year.

Mumbai Train Murder Case: In February, a 32-year-old college lecturer was allegedly stabbed during a fight while trying to get off a train at Malad station. The accused in that case was also arrested.
This latest killing has again raised concerns about passenger safety on Mumbai's suburban railway network.
Mayank's family is asking for the strictest punishment for the accused and urging authorities to take stronger steps to prevent such incidents in the future.
