FIR Against Amit Thackeray: An FIR has been filed by the police against Amit Raj Thackeray, the leader of the MNS Vidyarthi Sena, and about 20 to 25 others after it was reported that a photograph of Prime Minister Narendra Modi had been removed from the principal's office at the Government Polytechnic in Pune on Monday.

The complaint submitted to the Chaturshringi police station on August 31 states that Thackeray and other members of the MNS Vidyarthi Sena, including students and workers, entered the office without permission between 12:30 p.m. and 1:15 p.m.

They are alleged to have removed Modi's photograph, threatened the staff, shouted slogans, and caused a disturbance.

Rajendra Kashiram Patil, who worked at the government institution, submitted the complaint.

Amit Thackeray Latest News: The case was registered under Sections 329(3), 189(9), 84, 229, and 349(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, as well as Section 120 of the Maharashtra Police Act, according to a senior police officer.

The allegations made in these sections involve unlawful entry, criminal intimidation, obstruction, and causing a disturbance.

The police have listed Thackeray together with about 20 to 25 unnamed individuals who are office-bearers of the MNS, students, and workers as the accused. The investigation is still going on.

Pune College Student Issues: The incident took place when MNS Vidyarthi Sena leader Amit Thackeray was having a conversation with some students, who mentioned problems including shortages of food in the canteen, a lack of sports coaches, issues with hostel facilities, sanitation, and the state of the classrooms.

A student noted that Modi's photograph was shown alongside those of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar.

Thackeray cast doubt on this, and as a result, the MNS workers took down the photograph.

Although the government might have rules regarding the display of photographs, Thackeray thought that Modi's photograph should not be shown alongside those of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar.

He stated that those two historical figures could not be compared with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and maintained that, even if there were protocols, it was unacceptable to place the Prime Minister's photograph alongside theirs.

Dhananjay Dalvi, president of the MNS in Pune, supported the move by stating that a student had raised the matter with Thackeray.

FIR against Amit Thackeray: Dalvi also added that the MNS regards Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj as its deity and Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar as its icon, and therefore does not accept the equating of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with them.

Dalvi stated that, should an FIR be filed to defend the honour of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the party would regard it as a source of pride.

He also raised the question of what message the government college was sending by placing the photograph of the Prime Minister next to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's picture.
