Sonam Wangchuk Hunger Strike Day 20: On Thursday, Abhijeet Dipke, who founded the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), made an emotional statement, saying that Sonam Wangchuk was on his deathbed.
Dipke has stayed with the climate activist since Wangchuk started his indefinite hunger strike at Delhi's Jantar Mantar on June 28. He made these comments in a CJP video.

Wangchuk is calling for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan following several exam paper leaks, including those of NEET.
In the video, Dipke said Wangchuk had become so weak that "his bones are visible." He also mentioned that Wangchuk nearly fell twice while walking to the washroom on Thursday.
Photos shared on social media that day seemed to show his worsening condition.
Visibly frail, Wangchuk was helped down from the stage by several people, including Dipke, and then slowly walked to the washroom.
Despite his condition, Wangchuk paused to smile and wave at his supporters. Many were students and parents from Delhi-NCR and other parts of the country.
Ignoring appeals to call off his fast, Wangchuk remained resolute on Thursday.

Sonam Wangchuk Latest News: In a video on the CJP's official YouTube channel, Wangchuk asked people to stop telling him to end his hunger strike and instead question why the government was not responding.
Doctors say Wangchuk's health is now at a critical stage as his hunger strike goes on. On Thursday, they warned that the next phase could be dangerous and might harm his organs.
This warning came as political leaders, public figures, and organisations urged him to stop his fast, and the issue was brought to the Delhi High Court.
Earlier, Wangchuk said ending the fast without a response from the government would send the wrong message.

Sonam Wangchuk Hunger Strike Day 20: In a video message released late Wednesday night, he said he could continue for many more days and asked people to support the Cockroach Janta Party's planned Parliament march on July 20.
After hearing a PIL regarding Wangchuk's health, the Delhi High Court directed the authorities to monitor his condition daily and provide medical assistance if it worsens.
The bench said that every citizen's life is valuable and that government authorities should do everything possible to ensure access to medical care.
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, representing both the Centre and the Delhi government, agreed that every life is precious and said there was no objection to Wangchuk having regular medical check-ups.
Sonam Wangchuk Health Update: Wangchuk’s Condition Critical, Docs Urge Govt to Act Before Organ Failure
According to the latest medical bulletin from Dr Satish Lamba, Wangchuk has lost more than nine kilograms since starting his hunger strike on June 28 and now weighs 56.9 kg.
Dr Lamba said Wangchuk has entered a critical stage of prolonged fasting. He explained that after the body uses up its glucose reserves, it starts to use fat and then muscle.
Wangchuk's ketone level had reached 3-plus and dropped to 2-plus after his hydration improved, but his uric acid stayed high, showing that his muscles were breaking down.
Lamba said the next stage could be alarming and might affect Wangchuk's organs.
He explained that Wangchuk is being monitored around the clock and hoped that his condition would not worsen.
Lamba also urged the government to act quickly, warning that things could become very serious if organs are affected.
This health update came just hours after Wangchuk tried to reassure his supporters that medical tests had not shown any immediate danger.

Sonam Wangchuk Hunger Strike Day 20: In a video message, he stated that his condition was not critical enough to suggest he would pass away in a matter of days.
He added that multiple medical tests had been conducted, and the results were quite normal for someone undergoing an 18-day fast.
An ECG was also performed and was normal. Wangchuk noted that he could continue for many more days.
While acknowledging his muscles were weakening, he maintained that his heart and core were still fine.
He encouraged students to see the protest as "a real lesson in political science and democracy.
He asked supporters to register for the march through the campaign website or by giving a missed call.
Protest at Jantar Mantar: Kejriwal Backs Wangchuk’s NEET Protest, Demands Minister's Exit
The CJP has been protesting at Jantar Mantar, calling for Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to resign over alleged problems with the NEET exam.
Wangchuk first joined the protest on June 6 and returned on June 28 to start his indefinite fast.
Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah criticised the Centre for not engaging with Wangchuk.
AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal met him at Jantar Mantar and expressed support.
The former Delhi chief minister said that exam papers are leaked every year, which causes young people to suffer.
He urged the government to listen to both the students and Wangchuk. He also suggested that Wangchuk should become the country's education minister.
Kejriwal was joined by Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh and party leaders Anurag Dhandha, Saurabh Bhardwaj, MLA Sanjeev Jha, Kuldeep Yadav, and Jarnail Singh.

Sonam Wangchuk Latest Update: The Supreme Court Bar Association asked Wangchuk to end his fast, saying the country needed him to stay "alive, active and engaged" rather than risk his health and life over a troubled system.
SCBA President Vikas Singh visited Jantar Mantar, met Wangchuk, and gave him a letter urging him to stop the fast.
Celebrities, Politicians Rally Behind Sonam Wangchuk, Urge Gov't to Intervene
Music composer Vishal Dadlani, actors Sonakshi Sinha, Sayaji Shinde, and Atul Kulkarni, comedian Vir Das, author Shobhaa De, MNS chief Raj Thackeray, and former Congress MP Priya Dutt also asked the government to speak with Wangchuk and expressed concern about his health.
Education Protest: 1.5 Lakh to March on Parliament as Economists Join Wangchuk’s Fast
Sonam Wangchuk Hunger Strike Day 20: Economists Jean Dreze and Reetika Khera visited the protest and showed support for the students.
The CJP said that about 1.5 lakh people have confirmed they will join the Parliament march on July 20.
Wangchuk remains determined to continue his fast until the government responds.
