Suvendu Adhikari Latest News: Chandranath Rath, a personal assistant to BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari, was shot and killed by unknown attackers late Wednesday night in Madhyamgram, North 24 Parganas, West Bengal.

The killing took place shortly after the BJP’s major victory in the Assembly elections, where the party won 207 out of 294 seats.

Rath managed Adhikari’s election campaigns in Nandigram and Bhabanipur, helping him win both seats, including the contest against BJP leader Koustav Bagchi.

Bagchi said that attackers on motorcycles followed Rath’s white Scorpio SUV and stopped it near Doharia in Madhyamgram. They fired at the vehicle while Rath was still inside, causing panic.

The SUV’s driver was also injured. Rescue teams first took him to a hospital in Madhyamgram, then transferred him to a hospital in Kolkata for further treatment.

The media has learned that the attackers fired from both sides of the white SUV. Doctors told police that bullets struck Rath in the right abdomen and left chest, passing through his heart. An officer who wished to remain anonymous said the murder was carried out with precision by professionals.

According to him, Chandranath was targeted by killers when he was sitting beside the driver. He was supposed to be the main target for killing, as shots fired at him were precisely aimed.
